Welcome to the Assumption Track and Field team website! The first Assumption High School Track and Field team competed in 1969 at the Louisville Catholic High School Invitational Games. Much has changed since then, as the team has won numerous Regional team titles, a State Runner-up team finish in 2003, and a State Championship in 2005. This site is not only a source of current season team information, but is also dedicated toward highlighting the accomplishments of the many Assumption Track and Field athletes who have competed over the years.
2010 Track Team finishes in 5th place at State
Assumption's Track Team concluded the 2010 season by qualifying all 4 relay teams and 12 individuals into the State Meet, and finishing 5th. Camille Lannert emerged as State Champion in the discus, winning our first discus State Championship since the early 1980s when 3A record holder Gabrielle Sweeny was competing as a Rocket. Camille also finished 3rd in the shot put, contributing 16 points to our 37 overall team points. Ashley El Rady and Allison Riedling were responsible for helping the team pick up an additional 19 points. Ashley and Allison joined with Ellen Marko and Caroline McCaslin to push our 4 x 800m relay team to a strong 3rd place finish in one of our fastest times over the last 5 or so years. Ashley went on to earn a 4th place finish in both the 1600 and 3200, while Allison nailed down a 6th place finish in the 3200. DeeDee Sliter also stepped up with a great 7th place finish in the long jump. Full Class 3A results can be found here
