Welcome to the Assumption Track and Field team website! The first Assumption High School Track and Field team competed in 1969 at the Louisville Catholic High School Invitational Games. Much has changed since then, as the team has won numerous Regional team titles, a State Runner-up team finish in 2003, and a State Championship in 2005. This site is not only a source of current season team information, but is also dedicated toward highlighting the accomplishments of the many Assumption Track and Field athletes who have competed over the years.
2009 Track Team finishes in 16th place at State
The Assumption Track Team concluded the 2009 season by qualifying 3 relay teams and 9 individuals into the State Meet, and finishing 16th. The large majority of the girls and relay teams ran at or near season best times, as well as personal bests. Our 4 x 800m relay team of Caroline McCaslin, Bethany Schweiger, Ellen Marko and Ashley El Rady finished 7th in a season best time of 9:57.62. Ashley came back from anchoring the 4 x 800m relay to finish 5th in the 1600 and lower the school record in that event to 5:17.93. She was followed by Allison Riedling, who ran 5:21.64, in 7th place - only a half second off her personal best time in that event. Sara Davis and Amy Stamon emerged from the 3200 with a 7th and 8th place. Sara ran a personal best of 11:37.29, and Amy's time of 11:49.09 was also a personal best. Erin Storck rounded out our medal winners with her third straight State Meet medal finish in the 300 hurdles. Erin ran 47.78 for 5th. Full Class 3A results can be found here
